William "Lloyd" McIntosh, Birth 13 May 1892, died on 8 Sep 1899 at the tender age of 7. He and his family were living in Atlanta when Lloyd passed, but his body was shipped to Dadeville as he had family and friends in Dadeville.
His father was James Montgomery McIntosh (1868–1932), and his mother was Annie Rowe McIntosh (1871–1965). James was a traveling salesman who passed away while living in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to Lloyd, James, and Annie had seven other children, five girls, and two boys. His father, James, was also buried in Dadeville, but his mother was buried in Mobile, Alabama.
Lloyd's family resided in Vienna, Dooly County, Georgia, on June 12, 1900, nine months after his passing. His parents celebrated their marriage just in time on April 10, 1892. Lloyd entered the world one month and three days after their union. Even in his short life, Lloyd left a profound legacy, inspiring countless individuals with the thought-provoking questions he posed.
Lloyd's cause of death is a mystery that has intrigued me for years. I searched newspapers in Atlanta and Dadeville and couldn't find anything stating his cause of death. Typhoid fever was a problem during this time, especially in urban areas, and in 1899, the 'Kissing Bug' epidemic occurred. Several things could have caused his death, and we will never know unless someone can tell us or find it in a document.
